Community Connections

Bryan shared representations of his family rules!

Myra shared a picture of her with her two sweet cats.
I wonder which one is Clover? She also lost her second tooth!

Ivy has been working so hard at home!
She set up her literacy and math tools close to her work table.

Twilight exploring with Solveig.
Swings and sun with Myra and her sister.

Reading

Today Avid Readers searched for blends in their new paper books. Tomorrow we will try and record even more blends. It will be a community challenge! How many blends will we find?

These beautiful pictures continue to inspire and remind us of the learning that is happening, the learning that we can still be a part of, even when we are apart. I am so thankful for the children and families in our community.

Writing

The Kindergarteners continue to write like scientists; observing and writing about one topic. Tomorrow they will write about the habitat of their topic!

The first picture is of Richard's topic, his turtle! In the second picture Richard writes down his literacy goal. Such a powerful idea and an example of Richard taking initiative of his learning.

Brennan shares his beautiful first page of his book about Bun Bun.

Ivy models using her tools from school at home! Her first page about Alabama is full of detail.

Solveig and Myra have been invested in their books about their beloved cats. They will write even more information tomorrow!

Ira and Bryan used detail pictures, labels, and sentences on their first page.

Megan shared a picture of her topic, Shadow, and wrote her first page!

Math

The children filled in the 20's chart on the front of their math folders. This chart and their 100's chart will be helpful tools for understanding the counting sequence, recognizing numbers, and exploring numbers. They used their unifix cubes and ten frame to show different number combinations!

Ivy took on the challenge of writing equations to go with their red and white cubes!

Science

Scientists observe and record what they see, hear, and smell. The children have been invested in developing their observational skills.
